Excellent vision correction, but very fragile
I have worn contacts,all types, all brands, for over 30 years. ProClear XR has been the very best for correction of my astigmatism. The only time they blur is if they get wet. I can't shower in them, and even have to be careful of slight splashed (very rainy weather, sports, etc.) Otherwise, I get terrific vision and comfort. The negative: I have never, ever ripped so many lenses in my life--and I'm very careful, very experienced at handling lenses. They have even ripped *in* my eye (twice), while I was putting them in. Once I had to go to the MD to have the 1/2 lens removed. I am discovering by trial and error: 1)be sure hands are not wet (the lenses do not like water, which dries and blurs them in an instant, makes them sticky and tearable; 2)to be sure there is not a hint of soap or hand sanitizer on your fingers. I recommend pouring lens solution on your fingers before handling these--but even then, sometimes they rip for no reason at all. Because they are so fragile, I wish they were much cheaper. Ideally I'd replace them daily (and sometimes have to) , but that's costly.

These lenses tear
I found these lenses to be very comfortable and am realizing good vision with them. The "but" is that they tear so easily and are so expensive that it can be cost prohibitive to use them. I rarely get more than a week of use before they tear and oftentimes it can be only a day or two. Terrible issue.

Love Them
I have been wearing glasses since the age of 8 years old. I am a patient with higher levels of astimatism. I never dreamed that I could wear a soft contact. Everyone that I talked to about a toric lens said it would be very uncomfortable. I expected the worst, so I was pleasantly surprised. I have been wearing the toric XR for almost a year and I am very well satisfied.

I have worn toric contacts for years and was very happy to find that the Proclear toric is so comfortable and less drying. But I can no longer afford the replacement cost due to the constant tears even after only days of wearing. I have even had a lense tear in my eye causing a scratch and irritation. Love the comfort level but hate the tearing. Going back to my previous frequency 55 toric lenses.
